HISTORY OF SALLY'S WEST INDIAN RESTAURANT III INC.
Sally who is known only by her first name
migrated to the United States from Jamaica many years
ago. She had a passion for cooking and began working as
a cook. The last job that she held before opening her
own restaurant was at Baney's Restaurant.
At Baney's Sally ran the restaurant single
handily. She cooked, bought the groceries, served the
guest, did the books and managed the staff.
One day while cooking a pound of pork
an idea came to her. She figured that if she could run
someone else's restaurant why not her own. Unable to get
help from her family, she gathered her savings and the
first Sallys opened in 1987. Sally's Jamaican West Indian
Cuisine Restaurant, which is still in operation today,
is located on Clarkson Avenue in Brooklyn. As the business
grew and another restaurant was opened three years later.
This location was called Sally's Cuisine Restaurant and
is located on Avenue D. In 1997 a third Sally's restaurant
was opened. This is the last restaurant so far, but Mrs.
Sallys says that it won't be the last.

is located on Ralph Avenue between Farragut and Foster
Ave., in the Carnarsie section of Brooklyn, New York.
